Check your software edition first
Silhouette Studio Designer Edition and higher can open SVG files from outside the Silhouette Design Store. Basic Edition does not include that import capability. Business Edition adds SVG export, which is a different task; you do not need Business Edition just to open a purchased SVG. Silhouette’s software edition comparison.
StoneRoster supplies SVG cut files, not DXF or native .studio files. Check that your existing software can import SVG before buying a roster pack.
Open the SVG and check its dimensions
Extract the ZIP, then open an individual SVG from names/ or an arranged SVG from mats/. Use roster-proof.pdf to review names, dimensions and layout references. The PDF preview is not the cut file.
Open calibration.svg first. Its reference rectangle should measure 100 × 20 mm inside your software. Compare a name’s imported width and height with its entry in the PDF. Keep the hole size unchanged: resizing the whole SVG also resizes every circle.
If an SVG opens away from the workspace, Silhouette documents a Centered option under Preferences → Import → SVG. This changes import placement; still confirm the design’s dimensions before cutting. Silhouette’s import troubleshooting.
Check the cut lines in Send
Select the design and open the Send panel. Silhouette’s SVG tutorial explains that imported designs may need cut lines enabled. Confirm the circles you intend to cut are active, rather than assuming an on-screen design is ready for the cutter. Silhouette’s SVG import tutorial.
Your name and mat SVGs contain the cutting circles. Labels and placement references are kept in the PDF and CSV. Check that the final job contains the expected names and that the chosen mat has enough usable cutting area.
Test once before preparing the roster
Use the free calibration kit with your actual stones and a scrap of the intended template material. Check the measured rectangle, hole weeding and how stones settle in the five trial patches. Follow your material supplier’s blade and machine settings.
Choose the working hole diameter in the studio before purchase, then preview all names. After downloading, test a complete name before cutting a whole team. Design stone counts do not include spare stones or calibration patches.
