USING YOUR PACK
You may use these templates to make finished physical products for personal use or sale. Do not resell or redistribute the digital template pack as a competing download product.
This free sample contains six fictional names at the example settings. Create your own preview on StoneRoster to choose different names or settings.

START HERE
1. Review spelling and actual dimensions in roster-proof.pdf. Name and mat previews are reduced.
2. Complete the five-patch calibration instructions below before cutting a complete name.
3. If the best hole diameter differs, regenerate using that setting. Never scale a whole name to change hole fit.
4. Import SVGs unchanged as cut geometry. Check individual names against the name dimensions in the PDF/CSV and mat selections against the dimensions below. Do not resize a selection to the nominal mat size: that changes every hole. Preserve relative circle positions with your software's attachment controls and verify the final layout against the PDF.
5. Test one complete name before cutting the roster. Follow your material and stone supplier's transfer/application instructions.

MAT SVG IMPORT DIMENSIONS
These are the full cutting-selection dimensions, not the nominal mat area. Each mat SVG canvas fits its circles with no empty outer margin. An importer that trims empty canvas should report the same size. If imported dimensions differ, stop and check the import settings; do not resize to the mat or silently compensate.
mats/mat-001.svg: 286.473333 x 117 mm cut selection.

GEOMETRY
SVG coordinates and dimensions use millimetres. Individual and mat SVGs contain only circles, with no cut labels, borders or registration marks. The separate calibration SVG intentionally contains its reference rectangle. Mat packing only translates circles; it never rotates or scales designs. Name bounding boxes have a 6 mm layout gap. Each packed SVG contains at most 4500 circles; extra mats may be needed for upload limits even when physical space remains. Design counts exclude spare stones and the calibration holes. Duplicate names have distinct numbered files.

Printing the PDF: select Actual size / 100%, then measure its 100 mm reference line. Do not use Fit to page. The SVGs are the cut files; PDF patch diagrams are not at cutting scale.

STONEROSTER - FIVE-PATCH BRUSHING CALIBRATION

CONTENTS AND SETTINGS
calibration.svg cuts one 100 x 20 mm reference rectangle and five patches, each containing a 5 x 5 grid of circular holes (125 holes total). It has no cut text or patch outlines. Keep the reference rectangle above the patches to identify their order, left to right.
Selected hole diameter: 3.429 mm. Requested minimum gap: 0.6 mm.
All patches use the same 4.229 mm center-to-center pitch, calculated as the largest trial diameter plus the requested gap. Smaller trial holes therefore have a larger edge gap. This patch test compares nearby hole sizes; finish by testing a complete name.

IMPORT AND CUT SCALE
The complete cut-geometry bounding box is 126.725 x 46.545 mm, from x=0/y=0. The SVG canvas has exactly these dimensions and no empty outer margin. Software that drops empty artboard space should retain this same overall geometry size; do not assume arbitrary imported dimensions are correct.
Select or measure the reference rectangle itself: it must be 100 x 20 mm in your cutting software. It is a filled vector rectangle so its outline defines the reference cut without stroke-width expansion. Import as cut geometry, not Print Then Cut. Preserve the relative placement of all shapes using the software's attachment controls and check the final mat preview. If dimensions or placement change, stop and report the import settings; do not scale or repair the file to hide the issue.
Cut scrap of the intended template material using your supplier's blade, mat and cutting-setting guidance. Measure the actual cut rectangle's width AND height: expected 100 x 20 mm. Record the actual measurements with a ruler/caliper photo. A correct import alone does not prove a correct physical cut.

PATCH KEY - LEFT TO RIGHT
Patch 1: 3.229 mm holes; 5 x 5 = 25 holes; 20.145 x 20.145 mm patch bounds; 1 mm edge-to-edge gap.
Patch 2: 3.329 mm holes; 5 x 5 = 25 holes; 20.245 x 20.245 mm patch bounds; 0.9 mm edge-to-edge gap.
Patch 3: 3.429 mm holes; 5 x 5 = 25 holes; 20.345 x 20.345 mm patch bounds; 0.8 mm edge-to-edge gap.
Patch 4: 3.529 mm holes; 5 x 5 = 25 holes; 20.445 x 20.445 mm patch bounds; 0.7 mm edge-to-edge gap.
Patch 5: 3.629 mm holes; 5 x 5 = 25 holes; 20.545 x 20.545 mm patch bounds; 0.6 mm edge-to-edge gap.
Patch 3 uses your selected diameter. Trial offsets are -0.2, -0.1, 0, +0.1 and +0.2 mm. At the selection limits, trial holes intentionally extend beyond the 1.5-6 mm selection range (down to 1.3 mm or up to 6.2 mm); those are trial values, not a wider roster setting range.

BRUSH AND TRANSFER TEST
Weed all five patches. Brush stones from the intended batch into each 25-hole grid; check clean settling, correct orientation, excessive movement, bridging, uncut edges and tearing. Use at least 25 stones at a time, reusing them between patches if needed. Record the best diameter and failed patches. Test clean lift/release with the intended transfer medium. A supplier may recommend 0.135 in (3.429 mm) for its SS10 workflow; this is not a universal SS10 rule.
If a different diameter works best, regenerate the roster with that setting and repeat calibration. Never scale a whole name to change hole fit. If the successful trial diameter lies outside the generator's supported 1.5-6 mm range, stop and report it; do not force the nearest available size.
Then cut and brush one complete generated name before preparing the full roster. Follow your material and stone supplier's transfer/application instructions. Keep spare stones beyond the design count.

RECORD THE RESULT
Date/operator; exact cutter and software version; mat/blade; template material and thickness; stone supplier/product/batch/SS label; pressure/passes/speed if exposed; imported rectangle and whole-geometry dimensions; physical cut rectangle width/height; observations for each patch; chosen diameter; transfer result; photos/video; all errors and attempts. Stop and report any need to redraw, weld, simplify or repair geometry.

VALIDATION STATUS
This file is digitally generated and checked. Physical cutting, stone fit and compatibility with your machine/software/material/stone combination have not been verified. A pass applies only to the combination actually tested.
